COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATE CORECONCEPTS LEVEL 100 SERIES
Commercial Certificate Program (CCP) is designed to bring together a
faculty of industry leaders and top producers to teach the fundamentals of
commercial real estate. Eight courses are offered over four weeks,
two courses per day, one full day per week, allowing students to
concurrently attend to business while learning. A Certificate of
Completion is awarded to students who attend at least seven of the eight
classes.

ETHICS WILL BE DUE AGAIN ON DECEMBER 31, 2008!
All REALTOR® members of CRCBR must take an Ethics Class before December 31, 2008. If
you have taken a class between January 1, 2005 until now, you are exempt
from taking the class. However, if you last took the Ethics class in 2004
or earlier, you MUST take an Ethics class to continue membership. Anyone
who has taken an Ethics Class not sponsored by CRCBR must fax, email, or
mail a copy of their Certificate of Completion to Emily Crespo. If you are a
broker-in-charge who needs to take the class, you have the option of taking the
class online, in order to prevent attending a third class during the licensing

Online Ethics Training
There are two online ethics training courses available on
www.REALTOR.org. Each
course meets the specific criteria and learning objectives required for either
new REALTORS® or existing REALTORS® as established in the Statements of
Professional Standards Policy #47 - New Member Orientation Program, and #48 -
Quadrennial REALTOR® Ethics Training found in the NAR
Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual. These courses do not
count as an elective for your license.

Unified Review to
Begin January 14th
In conjunction with the introduction of Accela, the City of
Charlotte will begin to provide a "unified" review for all
Commercial projects. Any project requiring a Driveway, Grading,
Detention, Landscape and/or Water Quality Permit review will be
accepted, reviewed and approved as a total package. That is, the
designer will no longer need to submit separate sets of individual
sheets from the plan set (2 landscape plans, 6 site plans, 4
grading and detention plans, 2 SWIM buffer plans) to be distributed
to various work groups. He/she will submit 7 complete sets
of civil plans so that all the review groups (Driveway, CDOT, Urban
Forestry, Erosion Control and Engineer) will have the opportunity
to provide a total concurrent review. In return, the designer will
be able to respond comprehensively to the comments.
Post
Construction Controls Ordinance Update
November 26, 2007, Charlotte City Council adopted a Post
Construction Controls Ordinance. This ordinance will become
effective on July
1, 2008 and all development and redevelopment project plans submitted to
the City on or after that date may be subject to these new

Town of Waxhaw
Begins Conducting Building Inspections
On January 1, the Town of Waxhaw
began handling all building inspections inside the town limits.
Individuals requiring a construction related permit such as
building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc. should contact the
Building Inspections Department at 704-843-2195.
Contractors who
currently hold a construction related permit with Union County will
continue to have the County conduct those inspections until the
completion of the project.

Beacon Partners Builds K-12 Charter School in
Mooresville
Beacon Partners, one of the
area's leading commercial real estate developers has begun
construction on Pine Lake Preparatory School's permanent campus on a
22 acre site just outside of Mooresville. The project, located
less than one mile from the intersection I-77 and future Exit 32,
will feature a secure campus setting for more than 1,400 students in
kindergarten through twelfth grades.
Charlotte Business Journal's 2008 Green Awards
The Charlotte
Business Journal and the Charlotte Chapter of the US Green Building
Council want to recognize those who are going green. The Charlotte
Business Journal's 2008 Green Awards event on April 16 will honor
those in the Charlotte area who make efforts to incorporate
environmentally sustainable practices into their businesses and
community work.
The Green
Awards will recognize individuals, businesses, government leaders
and entities, and non-profit organizations in two main categories - General Awards and Green Building Awards. Within those two
categories there are a total of 20 awards. Work or projects
completed from January 2007 to December 2007 will be considered.

Flagship Capital Partners, LLC has acquired 934 Cox Road in
Gastonia, NC, the newest addition to the firm's portfolio of medical
office buildings. 934 Cox Road is a single-tenant, two-story 12,658
SF class A medical office building situated on 1.5 acres. Mr.
J. Brannen Edge III represented Flagship Capital Partners in the investment
acquisition.
