ETHICS WILL BE DUE AGAIN ON DECEMBER 31, 2008!
To satisfy NAR requirements, all REALTOR® members of CRCBR must take an ethics class before December 31, 2008.  If you have taken an ethics class since January 1, 2005, you are exempt from taking the class.  However, if you last took the ethics class in 2004 or earlier, you MUST take an ethics class to continue CRCBR membership.  Anyone who has taken an ethics class not sponsored by CRCBR must fax, email, or mail a copy of their Certificate of Completion to Emily Crespo.  To learn more about the ethics requirement, click here.

This will be the 15th anniversary of the CRCBR Annual Meeting so make sure to be a part of this special event!

Philip L. Dubois, Chancellor, UNC Charlotte
On March 18, 2005, Dubois was named UNC Charlotte's fourth chancellor and assumed that role on July 15. In his first three years, Dubois has focused his efforts on building the University's visibility and support in the Charlotte region; long-range planning for an expected enrollment of 35,000 students by the year 2020; completion of key capital construction projects (including a major new building to be located in Center City Charlotte); and improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of critical business processes.

Awards to Honor Outstanding Member Achievements
Cornerstone Award - given to a non-member individual, institution or firm that has significantly improved the economy of the region and its image.
REALTOR® of the Year Award - bestowed upon the outstanding REALTOR® member based on their spirit, civic activity, business accomplishments and CRCBR activity.
President's Award - presented to the member who has contributed the most to promoting CRCBR and furthering the mission and goals of the association.
Corporate Associate of the Year Award - given to the Corporate Associate member who made the greatest contribution of time, energy and resources.

As we begin production on the 2009 CCP CoreConcepts Level 100 Series brochure, we would like to include testimonials from previous CCP participants. The 2008-9 BICAR will cover distressed sellers, short sales and foreclosures. Lending laws, loan fraud and Broker-In-Charge requirements will also be discussed. The BICAR Course is a mandatory elective for all brokers-in-charge who wish to remain a broker-in-charge as of July 1, 2009 for the 2009-2010 licensing period. Only licensees who are brokers-in-charge or who are broker-in-charge eligible will receive continuing education credit for this course.

ETHICS

ETHICS IS DUE ON DECEMBER 31, 2008!
To satisfy NAR requirements, all REALTOR® members of CRCBR must take an ethics class before December 31, 2008.  If you have taken an ethics since January 1, 2005 you are exempt from taking the class.  However, if you last took the ethics class in 2004 or earlier, you MUST take an ethics class to continue CRCBR membership.

ONLINE ETHICS TRAINING
There are two online ethics training courses available on www.REALTOR.org.  Each course meets the specific criteria and learning objectives required for either new REALTORS® or existing REALTORS® as established in the Statements of Professional Standards Policy #47 - New Member Orientation Program, and #48 - Quadrennial REALTOR® Ethics Training found in the NAR Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual
These courses are not CE approved and do not count as an elective for your license.

This course introduces concepts critical to successfully listing properties. As students learn new concepts and key formulas, they are given an opportunity to apply them through the problems presented in the case studies.

AFFILIATE ORGANIZATION EDUCATION/ACCREDITATION

RLI Education and the ALC Designation
The Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation is the esteemed credential of the REALTORS® Land Institute. The designation is attained only by those land specialists who demonstrate the highest levels of knowledge, experience, and professionalism.  To learn more about the ALC designation, click here.

To achieve the ALC designation, land sales experts must complete a rigorous educational program and fulfill extensive experience requirements.

The North Carolina Chapter of the REALTOR Land Institute (NCRLI) has four classes coming up. Each of these classes would help your move towards earning an ALC designation or could simply help by providing them with an education experience that deals in land.

This 2-day REALTORS Land Institute (RLI) Land University course introduces participants to the land development specialty. As a result of taking this course you will: Develop a profitable subdivision in order to expand their market opportunities. Below is the basic format of how your transactions will be listed.  Make sure to give us your name, company and all of the information pertaining to the transaction:

Commercial RE Company - Jane Doe

XYZ Company leased 5000 sq. ft. of flex space at 123 Plaza Center.  Jane Doe of Commercial RE Company represented the tenant and John Smith of John Smith Real Estate represented the landlord.
