Wednesday, December 17th for the 2008 CRCBR Annual Meeting. We will
be honoring the best of 2008 with our annual awards while looking to
the upcoming year with both the election of our 2009 Leadership, and
a presentation by UNC Charlotte Chancellor, Dr. Philip L. Dubois.
This will be the 15th anniversary of the CRCBR Annual Meeting so
make sure to be a part of this special event!

Dr. Philip L. Dubois, Chancellor, UNC Charlotte
On March 18, 2005, Dubois was named UNC Charlotte's fourth
chancellor and assumed that role on July 15. In his first three
years, Dubois has focused his efforts on building the University's
visibility and support in the Charlotte region; long-range planning
for an expected enrollment of 35,000 students by the year 2020;
completion of key capital construction projects (including a major
new building to be located in Center City Charlotte); and
improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of critical business
processes.
Awards to Honor Outstanding Member Achievements
• Cornerstone Award - given to a non-member individual,
institution or firm that has significantly improved the economy of
the region and its image.
• REALTOR® of the Year Award - bestowed upon the outstanding
REALTOR® member based on their spirit, civic activity, business
accomplishments and CRCBR activity.
• President's Award - presented to the member who has
contributed the most to promoting CRCBR and furthering the mission
and goals of the association.
• Corporate Associate of the Year Award - given to the
Corporate Associate member who made the greatest contribution of
time, energy and resources.

The 2008-9 Update will cover
materials facts, new Commission rules, licensing & education issues and the
changes to the commercial contract, Agreement to Purchase Form 580-T. The
Commercial Version of the Update has been modified for the commercial
practitioner. For agents who practice residential real estate, it is strongly
recommended that they take the regular Update, not this version.

Broker-In-Charge Annual Review

The 2008-9 BICAR will cover distressed sellers,
short sales and foreclosures. Lending laws, loan fraud and Broker-In-Charge
requirements will also be discussed. The BICAR Course is a mandatory elective
for all brokers-in-charge who wish to remain a broker-in-charge as of July 1,
2009 for the 2009-2010 licensing period. Only licensees who are
brokers-in-charge or who are broker-in-charge eligible will receive continuing
education credit for this course.

ETHICS |
|
ETHICS IS DUE ON DECEMBER 31, 2008!
To satisfy NAR requirements, all REALTOR® members of CRCBR must take
an ethics class before December 31, 2008. If you have taken an
ethics since January 1, 2005 you are exempt from taking the class.
However, if you last took the ethics class in 2004 or earlier, you MUST
take an ethics class to continue CRCBR membership.
Anyone who has taken an ethics class not sponsored by CRCBR must
fax, email, or mail a copy of their Certificate of Completion to Emily
Crespo. An online ethics course is available, but does not count
as CE credit. Brokers-in-charge are encouraged to take the online
course in order to prevent attending a third class during the licensing

ONLINE ETHICS TRAINING
There are two online ethics training courses available on
www.REALTOR.org. Each course meets
the specific criteria and learning objectives required for either new
REALTORS® or existing REALTORS® as established in the Statements of
Professional Standards Policy #47 - New Member Orientation Program, and
#48 - Quadrennial REALTOR® Ethics Training found in the NAR
Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual. These courses
are not CE approved and do not
count as an elective for your license.

Commercial Certificate Program (CCP) is designed to bring together a
faculty of industry leaders and top producers to teach the

Partners - Ken Chapman
Hillco, Ltd. has purchased a 10.7-acre site at Clear Creek Business
Park, a Crosland project developed by Merrifield Partners. The location
will be the site of an 80-bed Nursing Home. Ken Chapman of Merrifield
Partners represented the seller in this transaction.
Merrifield Partners - George Macon
Our Nest Egg, LLC has purchased Suite 203 (1,500 s.f.) in Building 17 at
Blakeney Professional Center. The location will be the site of Pruitt
Insurance Services, Inc. George Macon of Merrifield Partners represented
the seller in the transaction.
Merrifield Partners - George Macon
Blakeney Heroes, LLC has purchased Suite 200 (2,939 s.f.) in Building 18
at Blakeney Professional Center. The location will be the site of
Southeast Psychological Services. Woody Winslow of Vision Group Realty
